Each school district will nominate 1-3 staff members to create a group of educators and specialists who can serve as “local experts” for training, support and problem solving focused on the education of students with autism spectrum disorders.
These trainings will focus on evidence based practices in the general education setting, practical strategies for implementing evidence based practices, behavioral programming for students with ASD, and strategies for supporting the social-emotional development of students with ASD.
Participants will be expected to attend trainings, redeliver information at the system, school, or classroom level, and engage in resource sharing, classroom observations with the Emory staff and discussion within the SCGLRS Autism Network.
